The Mystery of the Pyramids

Lately I've been extremely interested in the Great Pyramid of Giza. The precision, the construction, and the sheer scope of it are mind-blowing. By the way, what remains to be seen now is the core structure, it used to be smooth and had limestone casing. Here’s some of my favorite “out of this world” facts about it:

-Mathematical Precision: The pyramid's dimensions show direct relationships with mathematical constants like pi and the golden ratio. If you divide the perimeter by twice the height, you get a number extremely close to pi and the ratio of the slant height to half the base is almost exactly the golden ratio.

-A Giant Compass: The Great Pyramid is aligned almost perfectly with the cardinal points - north, south, east, and west. The deviation is less than a fraction of a degree.

-Relationship to Earth: If you scale up the pyramid's dimensions, they are extremely close to Earth's dimensions, including its circumference and polar radius.

-Precision of Construction: The stones used in the pyramid - particularly in the inner Kings Chamber - are fitted together with such precision that even a piece of paper can't slide between them.
Alignment with Stars: The pyramid's passages align with specific stars, and the layout of the three pyramids at Giza mirrors the stars in Orion's Belt - showing the Egyptians' deep understanding of astronomy.

And my favorite fact of all:

-The Number of Stones: It's estimated that about 2.3 million stones were used to build the pyramid, weighing several tons each. Based on the most widely accepted theory, the Great Pyramid was built over 20 years during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu. Considering the weight of the stone and the number of blocks, it is estimated that one block would need to have been placed every 2-3 minutes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to complete the pyramid in that time frame.
